Melissa Corral
BMI 38
Melissa, employee of Northeast
Georgia Health Partners, signed up
for the competition as a favor to
herself. Knowing for a while she
wanted to lose weight, Melissa is
looking forward to getting healthier
and developing healthy habits
that will help her prepare for children
in the next few years. “I think
it’s important for us to start making
better choices now so that we
can live a long and healthy, happy
life with our future children and
each other,” she states. Wanting to
get back to her weight from 2006,
Melissa knows that consistency is
key and hopes to develop habits
that will keep her on track from
here on out as she ventures back to
that goal weight.
She is also hoping to make some
lasting connections through this
contest; whether it is with the
other contestants, or a new friend
from the gym. “I enjoy meeting
new people and finding out their
motivation and hopefully it will
help me too,” she says.
Her inspiration to get healthy? “I
would like to set a better example
for my family…husband, mother,
father, brother; heck, even my
grandparents! I would like to feel
like they are proud of me, and not
only about my appearance, but by
the way I carry myself and remain
a positive role model for all those
around me through the choices
that I make with regards to food,
and life, in general.”
